Training Camps

Opportunities to officiate with referees from around the country while getting the invaluable feedback from the world-class training of the USAV National Training Team.

USAV Second Referee Boot Camp | March 6, 2016

Yale University | March 6, 2016

The Second Referee Boot Camp is the first camp specifically designed to focus solely on the second referee. Members of the USA Volleyball National Training Team and select local National referees will be on hand to evaluate campers’ skills and provide valuable feedback to improve transitioning, focus, and communication.

The camp is designed to be a small, friendly atmosphere where all campers will learn from each other, in addition to what they learn from trainers. Each camper will work three matches as a second referee and then be thoroughly debriefed at the conclusion of each match. When not working, campers are encouraged to sit with trainers as they observe other matches and when appropriate, ask questions about the match and techniques of their peers.
